Ricordo di Venezia

These small jewel bags are handcrafted from dead stock using Murano’s conterie, small and precious glass beads that are no longer in production. The work refers to “The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction” by Ursula K. Le Guin (1989), which emphasizes the importance of the container and its function to store and preserve. Handcrafted using the loom bead weaving technique, these objects-souvenir offer an alternative perspective on Venice, far from tourism and stereotypes. They serve as beautiful containers, revealing the diverse and challenging realities coexisting within this complex city.
